Our Work
Community Events
Thank you to Sgt. Major Gregory Coker, MA for allowing us to attend the Veterans Standdown and Homeless Resource event this year! The Reaching New Heights Foundation works to support veterans and those experiencing homelessness in the Inland Empire. They organized a large community resource fair where individuals could come and sign-up for services or receive things - like one of our wellness checks and a clinic map!
Donation Drives
Once we organize the food collection, we set out for finding partners and means of delivering this food to community partners. We hope to cultivate more connections with organizations and resources in the community that can help serve the health of the Inland Empire.
Collection Drives
So far we are just starting out, so we haven't officially organized our own events. But this is where we start! With collection of excess foods by partnering with local food rescue and coops, we have been able to redistribute over 300lbs, personally, and over 8,000lbs collectively to be redistributed in the community!
Wellness Services
We've been fortunate to coordinate two community wellness events, in coordination with California University of Science and Medicine's Street Team. Through them we've been able to provide individuals experiencing homelessness with maps to clinics and called to help schedule walk-ins or appointments.
Wellness Education
Our first community education event was a Maternal Health Resources module at Redlands Family Services. We're looking forward to scheduling more modules as we work with the organization and individuals in the community to pick topics.
